Professional indemnity insurance
Professional liability insurance is provided by AXA Insurance AG , Colonia -Allee 10-20 , 51067 Cologne, and meets the requirements of Sec. 51, 51 j Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung (BRAO, i. e. Federal Code for the Legal Profession).

The professional liability insurance generally has a worldwide territorial scope with the exception of liability claims arising from activities
a) via law firms or offices maintained or operated in other countries,
b ) in connection with the consultation and preoccupation with non-European law,
c ) of the lawyer before non-European courts.

Coverage for liability claims being instituted before non-European courts is granted only in the amount of the minimum insurance sum.

Dispute Arbitration
In disputes between lawyers and their clients an alternative dispute resolution procedure may be requested at the competent Regional Bar Association (pursuant to Sec. 73 para. 2 No. 3 BRAO) or at the arbitration board at the Federal Bar Association (Sec. 191 et seq BRAO) (for more information please refer to www.brak.de).
