Karin Deuringer - German Public Auditor and Tax Adviser

Karin Deuringer is a senior manager in the audit and tax department. Ms. Deuringer has been with Grant Thornton since 2008 and therefore has many years of experience in auditing and advising mainly medium-sized companies of all legal forms. As a tax consultant and auditor, she provides holistic support to her clients. The focus of her experience is on supporting companies in the construction and housing industry/real estate, automotive and other trading and production companies in various sectors.

Corporate tax advisory in practice Federal Ministry of Finance: payment of salary and pension to directors at the same time

Last year the Federal Fiscal Court (Bundesfinanzhof – BFH) decided that paying a pension and salary to an owner-director at the same time does not mean that in principle the pension is to be classified as a hidden profit distribution. The tax authorities only partially adopted the principles of the judgment in the latest amendment of its Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) circular. Cases where directors work part-time are critical.
