Grant Thornton advises Main Capital Partners on the acquisition of software provider mps public solutions
Stuttgart/Düsseldorf, 2 August 2024 – Main Capital Partners, a leading software investor in Northwest Europe and North America, recently announced the acquisition of one of Germany's leading software providers for public administration and social services, mps public solutions GmbH ("mps"). As a strategic partner, Main Capital will support mps in its next phase of growth through both organic and inorganic initiatives. The acquisition is the second platform investment for Main Capital Partners since the launch of the new fund MC VIII in April 2024.
An interdisciplinary team from Grant Thornton Germany led by Harald Weiß and Alex Refec (both Financial Advisory) as well as Dr. Nicolas Brüggen and Dr. Stefan Hahn (both Tax) successfully assisted Main Capital Partners with the financial and tax due diligence for the acquisition.
Main Capital Partners is a strategic investor with a focus on enterprise software in the Benelux, DACH, Nordics and the United States of America. The investor manages assets of around six billion euros and has more than 20 years of experience in realizing sustainable growth for software companies. Main Capital Partners focuses in particular on strategic product-market positioning as well as selective buy-and-build, partnership and internationalization strategies.
Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Koblenz, mps public solutions specializes in IT solutions for public administrations and consulting for social institutions and public prosecutors' offices. In addition to local authorities, the company supports institutions such as hospitals and specialist rehabilitation clinics. Today, mps is one of Germany's leading software providers in the public sector.
