Grant Thornton advises Swiss aviation industry technology provider Sita on the acquisition of Asistim

Swiss Sita S.C. (Société Internationale de Télécomunication Aéronautique), a global provider of technology solutions for the air transport industry, has announced the acquisition of the German Asistim GmbH, a Hannover-based company offering airline flight operations services. By means of the transaction, Sita continues to develop its service offering in the operations as a service market and to further pursue its growth strategy aiming to strengthen the Company’s offerings in end-to-end solutions at airports.
A team of financial experts from Grant Thornton Germany, especially comprising Tim Gonnermann, Dijana Dulovic and Dominik Hüttemann, successfully contributed to the completion of the acquisition by performing financial due diligence services and additional transaction advisory support, including advise on financially relevant aspects in the scope of the transaction documents.
Founded in 1949, Sita is a global specialist in air transport communications as well as information technology and is present in more than 1,000 airports worldwide. The company has followed its founder’s vision to reinvent travel and transport and sustainably transform travel from the very beginning.
As an expert in airline flight operation services, Asistim offers specialized flight operations to airlines. The ultimate aim is to improve airlines’ operational agility through outsourcing parts of their flight operations to Asistim’s team of airline experts. Beyond providing flight operation services, Asistim offers an approved flight dispatchers training with their Asistim Flight Dispatch Academy.
