Grant Thornton advises US promotional products specialists Geiger on the acquisition of promotional products distributor WER
Düsseldorf, 30 July 2024 – US American Geiger Corporation recently completed the strategic acquisition of WER GmbH, a dominant branded merchandise and apparel distributor based in Senden, Germany. This strategic move marks a significant milestone in Geiger’s ongoing international growth strategy, significantly strengthening its presence in Europe.
Grant Thornton advised Geiger on the transaction. The transaction team from the Financial Advisory service line, led by Klaus Schaldt and Sven Kirse, as well as from the Transaction Tax service line, led by Dr. Nicolas Brüggen, were able to make a significant contribution to the successful completion of the acquisition through financial and tax due diligence.
Geiger is the largest privately held and family-owned promotional products distributor in the world. A fifth-generation business headquartered in Lewiston, Maine, Geiger operates from offices throughout the U.S. and Europe and is affiliated with more than 450 independent sales representatives. Geiger is a socially and environmentally conscientious company, providing proactive, comprehensive marketing solutions to their clients.
WER GmbH, established in 1992, operates six offices and several warehouses across Germany, including major cities such as Munich, Cologne, and Frankfurt.
